When you think about being a parent, it’s easy to think only about the bad. You’re tired. You get frustrated. You feel like you’re doing everything wrong.  Of course, that’s what a lot of movies and books would have you believe, but in reality, you’re likely to experience every emotion there is in this, the most rewarding and rewarding role you’ll take on in your life.

The most important part of being a parent is getting to know your child. The first year and a half are the hardest. You learn so many things about your child that you never knew before. Things you didn’t even know you needed to know. Things you didn’t even know you wanted to know. From that moment on, you never stop learning, and you never stop loving your child. You will surely learn to enjoy and cherish more all the perks and privileges that come along with parenting. You will start to appreciate every single moment with your child.

What to Love with Parenting?

There are many things to love about being a parent—the freedom to travel, a new perspective on life, and the opportunity to see the world through your child’s eyes. But there are also some things that are not as fun—the inability to sleep in on the weekends, the expense of diapers, the sheer number of things you need to pay attention to, and the sheer number of ways you have to argue with your partner, among many others.

We’ve all heard the stereotypes about “good moms” and “bad moms” and how parenting is a “gift” that some are “meant” to have while others are “meant” to give up on. It’s hard to hear that kind of talk when you’re down on your luck and feeling wary of taking care of your kids and yourself. But it’s not true at all, and you can find a lot of joy and satisfaction in parenting, even if it’s not always easy.

Being a parent can be an overwhelming experience — especially when it comes to meeting the needs of others. We have a lot of questions and worries at times. We want to do it right.
